And the winners of our first “selfie” contest are…

Winners: Sonny Cooper, 8, with his dad at the match.

Eight-year-old Sonny Cooper couldn’t be more excited about watching Crystal Palace beat Manchester City at his first Premier League game at the Easter break.

The young football fan from Carshalton, who plays the sport every day, said he would be keeping his ticket and the match programme to remember just how “brilliant” the evening was.

Sonny attended the match with his dad, James Cooper.

Also at the local game on Easter Monday was Cheam couple Lorraine and Tony Martin.

Mrs Martin said: “We really enjoyed the match – thank you! The bonus was Palace having an unexpected win.”

The four fitness enthusiasts were the winners of Sutton Council’s “selfie” competition.

The contest asked Sutton residents to send in a creative picture of them exercising for the chance to win tickets to see Crystal Palace vs ManCity.

The tickets were provided by the Crystal Palace Football Club Foundation – a partner the council works with to promote public health in the borough.

Last year, Sutton Council and the Foundation set the ambitious target of improving the life-long health of 3,000 children over the next three years.

The Healthy Lifestyles Programme provides free sports coaching and lessons in nutrition for schoolchildren.

“Congratulations to the winners of our ‘selfie’ competition – it is fantastic to see that residents of all ages are keeping active and healthy and I hope your efforts will inspire others to do the same.

“We need to keep Sutton moving, so please, I would encourage all residents to continue sharing their health and fitness successes with us on social media.”
