In the First World War 45 men of The Wrythe in Carshalton, from an area of just four roads, gave their lives serving King and country. The impact on the area and the families of these brave soldiers was overwhelming. Now, their memories will be commemorated 100 years on with a day of events on 15 July, including the premiere of a specially written play.
To mark this anniversary a new play, written by Ann Pattison and based on research completed at the Circle Library, will be premiered at Carshalton High School for Girls on 15 July. Public auditions will take place on 4 and 6 April at St Mary’s Church, Beddington at 8pm. Please share these details to any of your constituents who may be interested!
